Abstract Submission Instructions for Poster Sessions and Oral Presentations

Deadline for receipt of abstracts is September 6, 2006 (Friday).

Please send the completed abstract form electronically (via e-mail) to Ms Lisa Gill (Lisa.Gill@usm.edu) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Poster Session Presentation Rules:

1. Poster size: The maximum poster size is 48 inches wide by 36 inches tall. Posters that exceed these size dimensions will be disqualified from the competition.
2. Poster session participants must be present at their posters during the scheduled judging session (TBA).
3. Students may present both an oral presentation and a poster. However, only one presentation will be eligible for winning a prize.
4. On the abstract submission form, students who plan to present both an oral presentation and a poster must indicate which one is to be judged for the competition.

Oral Presentation Rules:

1. Oral presentation length: 15 minutes maximum, which should include time for questions and answers. Students who exceed the allotted time will have points deducted.
2. Students may present both an oral presentation and a poster. However, only one presentation will eligible for winning a prize.
3. On the abstract submission form, students who plan to present both an oral presentation and a poster must indicate which one is to be judged for the competition.
4. Bring your PowerPoint Presentation on CD or flash drive.
