Xylylene Cyclic Dimer

This is the stable "monomer" used to make
polyparaxylylene,also called parylene or PPX.

This cyclic dimer is the "monomer" for parylene,
a polymer made through thermal conversion of the dimer to xylylene,
a highly reactive species also called 1,4-dimethylenecyclohexadiene.
The formal name for this dimer is [2.2]paracyclophane
