Polyethylene-co-Methacrylic Acid

Addition copolymer of the simplest alkene, ethylene,
with methacrylic acid to give what's called
an ionomer that crosslinks using ionic clustering.

Polyethylene is the simplest and most widely used synthetic polymer in the world.

Making a copolymer with methacrylic acid (and it's salts) generates the ionomers
that have unusual and highly desirable properties, like covering golf balls.
