Peptide
Polyaminoacid of alanine
Proteins are natural polyamides similar to
the synthetic polyamides called Nylons.
These homopolypepetides are made by ring-opening
polymerization of N-carboxyanhydrides.
This is a linear conformation of a simple peptide, polyalanine.
A true peptide or protein would have a variety of functional
groups in place of the methyl shown here.
